Hello and welcome to my webpage. My name is Matt Krems, and I have been passionate about learning for my entire life. My joy and love for physics and mathematics culminated in the completion of my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of California, San Diego in the summer of 2011. My thesis is entitled "Particle Dynamics in Nanopore Systems".

After completing my Ph.D., I moved on to my next dream - to travel and live abroad. Over the past year, I have traveled around and interacted with people from all over Asia while studying Mandarin Chinese and working as a contract editor for scientific writers whose first language is not English. My time abroad has been everything I could have hoped for, but it also has made me realize how much I miss working in science and technology. You can read about some of my experiences while traveling here.

While working on my Ph.D. and while traveling, I have independently studied web development, programming, photography, psychology, business, evolutionary biology, economics, and finance. My main passions lie with science and technology, but I hope to work on projects which allow me to play many roles, including learning the business side of things.

Thanks for visiting my website. Feel free to email me at if you have any questions or comments.
